On July 17, 2020 at the initiative of Ambassador Mr. Lee Yang-Goo of 2016-2019 an online meeting was held through the Zoom platform with representatives of Korea Lift College.
The Igor Sikorsky KPI delegation included Vice-Rector for International Relations Sergii Sydorenko, Vice-Rector for Academic Work Anatolii Melnychenko, Director of the Insitute of Mechanical Engineering Mykola Bobyr and Head of the Foreign Economic Activity Office Andrii Shysholin.
The Korean side was represented by Ambassador Mr. Lee Yang-Goo of 2016-2019, Vice President of Korea Lift College and Director of the Elevator School Project.
The main tasks of the meeting were to get acquainted with the representatives of the two universities, outline the main areas of cooperation and discuss the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding for further cooperation.
The Korean side proposed to create on the basis Igor Sikorsky KPI a Vocational School for the training of specialists in such areas as lift design, lift installation, lift maintenance, lift engineering. These areas are quite promising today given the rapid development of “smart cities” and the transition to the concept of Industry 4.0.
The Ukrainian side warmly accepted the offer of Korean partners, and the parties discussed key points and opportunities for the establishment of such a school on the basis of our university.
