Igor Sikorsky KPI welcomes its partner – Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd

On November 21st, 2018 Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd (the Republic of Korea) paid another partnership visit to our university.

The delegation was represented by Corporate Vice President, Head of Samsung R&D Institute Ukraine Sangwook Kwon, Deputy Director Jongeun Won, Ph.D., R&D Director Andrey Fisunenko, Deputy Director Se Hun Shim, Senior Professional JeongHee Lee, Ph.D., X&D Leader Oleksandr Striamets.

The guests were welcomed by the first vice-rector Yuriy Yakymenko, vice-rector for international relations Sergii Sidorenko, vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work (perspective development) Oleksiy Novikov, deputy head of the Institute of Physics and Technology Tetyana Litvinova and a specialist of International Collaboration Department Valeriia Russkova.

The purpose of this visit was to exchange approved memorandums on dual education, to sum up the first phase of the pilot project and to discuss plans for the upcoming years.

It is worth mentioning that Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd and Igor Sikorsky KPI have been actively collaborating for quite a long time. During over 10 years of fruitful cooperation between the Korean partners and the Institute of Physics and Technology, more than 100 of highly qualified graduates of this institute were hired. The training was actively conducted within internships programmes at Samsung, and due the support of the company a Samsung Smart Learning class was opened at KPI.

A new stage in the development of cooperation will be the pilot project of the dual system of education between Samsung Electronics and Igor Sikorsky KPI on the basis of the Institute of Physics and Technology. The parties have already started their active cooperation towards the new goal, so there are reasons to be confident in the success of the project with the support of our reliable partners.
