On April 10, 2019, a delegation of Jiangsu Yonggang Group Co., Ltd (Jiangsu Sheng, Suzhou Shi, Zhangjiagang Shi, People’s Republic of China) visited the Igor Sikorsky KPI.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss possible cooperation in the field of target training in the steel industry and metal processing for the Chinese metallurgical company Jiangsu Yonggang Group Co., Ltd, as well as discuss several potential environmental protection orders on the utilization and reuse of metallurgical slags.
The delegation was welcomed by the Igor Sikorsky KPI’s officials, namely by the director of the Center for international education V.O. Koval, deputy vice-rector for scientific work I.V. Litvinov; associate professor of the Department of high-temperature materials and powder metallurgy of the Faculty of physical engineering Yu.I. Bogomol, head of the foreign economic activity office and coordinator for cooperation with the People’s Republic of China A.P. Shysholin.
V.O. Koval made a general presentation of the Igor Sikorsky KPI, highlighting the requirements for enrolling the University of international students. He described the operation of the preparatory department, the programs of bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral studies, double certificates, the export of educational services abroad and the festival of start-ups, which is held annually at the university, etc.
Yu.I. Bogomol made a presentation of the Faculty of physical engineering and familiarized the guests with the activities of its departments.
Mr. Wu Huifang, executive vice-president of the company, presented the members of the delegation and described in detail the metallurgical company Jiangsu Yonggang Group Co., Ltd, which is the largest steelmaking company in China. The company was founded in 1984, ranked 183 among the top 500 enterprises in China and ranked 96th among the top 500 defense industry enterprises in China.
The parties agreed to prepare proposals for the establishment of cooperation in the educational, scientific and innovation spheres and the training of professionals for the metallurgical enterprises of China.
After meeting with the university leadership, the delegation visited the State Polytechnic Museum and viewed the exhibit dedicated to the history of aviation and cosmonautics. After the tour, the delegation was welcomed at the Faculty of Physical Engineering, where the guests got acquainted more closely with the faculty and met with the scientists.
