Rome Ministerial Conference of the European Higher Education Area

On November 19, 2020, the Rome Ministerial Conference took place, which completed the 2-year cycle of the Bologna Follow-up Group and became the first Ministerial Conference in the history of the Bologna Process.

During the Conference, the Ministers responsible for higher education in the European Area approved the Rome Ministerial Communiqué, a founding document outlining the priorities for the development of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) for the next 10 years. There was also a debate between the Ministers responsible for higher education in the European countries, a speech by Maria Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, and a discussion on the prospects for global cooperation in higher education until 2023.
