Round table “World Capital Market: Problems of Integration, Risks and Benefits” of the Department of International Economics at the Igor Sikorsky KPI

Department of International Economics of the Igor Sikorsky KPI every year organizes a round table. November 2020 was the 10th in a series of meetings of students and teachers with representatives of government, science, and business. This year’s topic of  lively discussion was “The World Capital Market: Problems of Integration, Risks, and Benefits.”

The participants of the round table were able not only to get acquainted with the opinions of leading experts but also to ask the questions that interest them and join the discussion.

The issues under discussion concerned the country’s integration into the international capital market; mechanisms for attracting investment; international financial centers; international financial institutions; the stock market of Ukraine. Participants learned about international features, different models of investment, and financial institutions and instruments. In particular, one of the most important issues concerning the institutions of higher education is the financing of their activities; this was discussed in the report “EU Research and Innovation Programs and Initiatives”.

Among the guests invited to speak were:

  • Oleksiy Sukhorukov, Business Development Director of Ukrainian Exchange JSC;
  • Oleksandr Derkach, private investor, co-owner of the Planeta Kino cinema network, Oberig private clinic, and the Milk Alliance company;
  • Anton Usov, Senior External Relations Advisor, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development;
  • Vitaliy Chernyuk, Head of the Expert Group on Integration into the European Research Area of the Directorate of Science and Innovation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
